چکیده

In spite of the well-established design and construction approaches slag–cement–bentonite slurry walls, materials deteriorate inevitably in contaminated land. The development effective which are sustainable, resilient self-healing over lifetime walls becomes essential. This study, for first time, adopts a styrene–ethylene/butylene–styrene (SEBS) polymer to modify enhance mechanical performance. results show that increase SEBS dosage significantly increased strain at failure, indicating enhanced ductility thanks modification by deformable polymer. is beneficial as wall could deform greater extent without cracks. After permeation liquid paraffin, exposed on crack surface swells seals crack, with post-healing permeability only slightly higher than undamaged values, exhibits good Scanning electron microscopy micro-computed tomography analyses innovatively reveal bonding homogeneous distribution slag–cement–bentonite. acts binder protect sample from disintegration, swollen particles effectively seal heal These demonstrate SEBS-modified provide properties

Modified Polyethylenimine: Self Assemble Nanoparticle Forming Polymer for pDNA Delivery

Objective Polyethylenimine (PEI), a readily available synthetic polycation which has high transfection efficiency owing to its buffering capacity was introduced for transfection a few years ago. But it has been reported that PEI is cytotoxic in many cell lines. In this study, in order to enhance the transfection efficiency of 10 kDa PEI and reduce its toxicity, hydrophobic residues were grafte...

Modeling of Polymer Flow Near Solid Walls

Polymers are known to exhibit various flow instabilities during extrusion in which a molten polymer is forced to flow through a narrow die, in order to form a strand or acquire a desired shape of the final product. Recent developments in experimental techniques revealed that some of the instabilities are interfacial in nature, that is originate from the violation of the no-slip boundary conditi...

Polymer Modified Asphalt Emulsion

In road paving industry, asphalt emulsion is used for cold mix application such as chip seal, slurry seal, microsurfacing, cold recycled mixture and etc. Asphalt emulsion has several advantages compared to normal asphalt such as eco-friendly, easy to handle at ambient temperature and energy saving material because it does not need any heating process in its application. The history of asphalt e...

Lysis of modified walls from Lactobacillus fermentum.

The N and O substitution in wall peptidoglycan from Lactobacillus fermentum was studied in relation to growth phase, as well as the lytic activities and the effect of trypsin on them. The N-nonsubstituted sites were determined by dinitrophenylation techniques. The results indicate that an extensive substitution at the O groups takes place as cells go into the stationary growth phase, concomitan...

Effective Parameters on the Phase Morphology and Mechanical Properties of PP/PET/SEBS Ternary Polymer Blends

In this work, ternary polymer blends based on polypropylene (PP)/ polyethylene terephthalate (PET) /poly(styrene-b (ethylene-co-butylene)-b-styrene) (SEBS) triblock copolymer and a reactive maleic anhydride grafted SEBS (SEBS-g-MAH) at various compositions were prepared by co-rotating twin screw extruder. The effects of PET, SEBS and SEBS-g-MAH compatibilizer on morphology of the blends were ex...
